Our amazing client is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Building Inspector to undertake building, plumbing and drainage inspections, review and manage regulatory consent applications, and respond to customer and internal enquiries in a positive, timely and professional manner. You will use your strong customer relationship skills to conduct inspections, resolve historical consents, investigate complaints, and undertake appropriate administrative requirements.

You will be fielding enquiries from customers and liaising with professional groups and internal customers on building issues therefore you will bring an outstanding customer service focused manner and be an excellent team player.

Within this role you will be involved in:
  • Conducting building inspections.
  • Participating in the formulation and amendments to ISO standard procedures.
  • Responding to all enquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Preparing and collating details for prosecutions, when requested.
In addition, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has:
  • An ability to understand and interpret building plans.
  • Knowledge of Building Act 2004, New Zealand Building Code and other related environmental legislation and standards.
  • A qualification in building, a trade (including plumbing and drainage), architecture, building science or related areas.
  • A competency level in Residential 3 and Commercial 1 or above.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
