Job description
Likemind works with people who share our approach to work and living …
We are about adding value, connecting the dots, and delivering a solution to take the pain away.  We believe that when the right connections are made, amazing things can happen.

Likemind is excited to be partnering with the Ministry of Education to find an exceptional professional for the role of Financial Programme Manager – Special Projects.  This is an important role involved in the planning and delivery of some of the Ministry’s, and Government’s, key work programmes to support schools and learners.

As the title suggests, a strong understanding of financial modelling is important, as is an ability to build capability across the team members to ensure delivery is efficient and effective. The role will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of important financial models providing and adding value to core financial information.

As you would expect with a Programme Manager role, it is important that the right candidate can ensure governance is fit for purpose and champion best practice project delivery. They will need to add value by being able to analyse and succinctly define and explain relevant financial information that will inform and allow for the right decisions to be made by stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who will bring the following skills and experience:
  • Leadership and day-to-day management of the work programme, including planning, design resourcing and implementation
  • Ability to develop, communicate and analyse financial models
  • Experience in applying project management methodologies to plan, document and deliver significant projects
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills to work closely with senior stakeholders, including executives, internal and external stakeholders
  • Identification, assessment, and management of risks, issues, impacts and dependencies across the programme
  • Contribute to regular reporting and governance to ensure effective oversight and accountability of the programme while providing confidence to key stakeholders
  • Insight, experience, and influence to develop and deliver plans that will result in real change.
If you feel you could add value to this role, and this important mahi, we would love to hear from you today!

Please note, that you must have the right to live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand. Background and various pre-employment checks are part of the recruitment process.

We are an equal-opportunity employer. We do all we can to encourage collaborative and diverse working environments throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
